How does the Candle Bar work?
Choose your vessel, explore our fragrance collection, and create a scent that feels completely your own. We’ll guide you through measuring your fragrance, pouring your wax, and making your candle from start to finish. No experience needed!

Do I actually make the candle myself?
You do! You'll choose your vessel and fragrance, measure your scent, pour and stir your candle, and place your wick with our guidance along the way. We handle the hot wax portion to keep the experience safe and simple.

How long does it take to make a candle?
The candle-making process usually takes around 30 minutes. We recommend allowing a little extra time to explore fragrances and create your perfect blend—especially if you're coming with a group.

Can I take my candle home the same day?
Yes! Candles typically need about 30 minutes to cool after pouring. You're welcome to browse the shop or explore Downtown Southern Pines while you wait.

Do I need a reservation?
Not right now! The Candle Bar is currently available on a walk-in basis during designated Candle Bar hours and days. For groups of 3 or more, we recommend reaching out ahead of time so we can make sure we have room for your group.

When is the Candle Bar open?
Our current Candle Bar hours are Friday from 1–4 PM and Saturday from 10am–2pm. Candle Bar hours may occasionally change for events or seasonal production, so we recommend checking our social media before making a special trip.

How much does it cost to make a candle?
Pricing varies depending on the vessel you choose. Your price includes your vessel, fragrance, wax, and the full candle-making experience.

Can children make candles?
Children 8 years and older are welcome to participate with adult supervision. Because we work with hot wax and fragrance oils, a parent or guardian will need to remain with younger candle makers throughout the experience.

Where is the Candle Bar located?
The Candle Bar is located inside Old North State & Co. in Downtown Southern Pines, North Carolina (290 SW Broad St. Unit B). While you're here, you can also shop Rustic Pine Candle Company along with a collection of goods from local and small businesses.

Do I need to bring anything with me?
Nope! We provide everything you need to create your candle. Just come ready to smell a lot of fragrances and have a little fun.

Can I bring my own candle or vessel to fill at the Candle Bar?
Outside vessels cannot be filled during the Candle Bar experience. For the Candle Bar, you’ll choose from one of the vessels available in-store or bring back a Rustic Pine vessel you’ve previously purchased.

We do offer a separate candle refill service for outside vessels! Because these require a few additional steps before they can safely be refilled, they’ll need to be dropped off with us rather than filled on the spot at the Candle Bar.

How many fragrances can I blend?
You can create your own custom fragrance using scents from our Candle Bar collection. We recommend keeping your blend to just a few fragrances so each note has a chance to shine—and we're always happy to help you find combinations that work beautifully together.

What if I have no idea what scents to choose?
That's part of the fun! Tell us what you normally love—or even what you don't love—and we'll help guide you toward fragrances that work well together. You definitely don't need to arrive with a scent combination in mind.

Can I bring my own vessel to the Candle Bar?
For the Candle Bar experience, candles must be made in one of our tested vessels. This allows us to ensure we're using the appropriate amount of wax and wick for a safe, properly burning candle. If you have a favorite candle vessel you'd like to reuse, ask us about our separate candle refill service!

Can I come with a group?
Absolutely! Our Candle Bar can accommodate approximately 6–8 guests at a time. For groups of 3 or more, we recommend contacting us ahead of your visit so we can make sure there's enough space available.

Do you offer private Candle Bar events?
Yes! Private Candle Bar experiences are available outside of regular business hours and are perfect for birthdays, girls' nights, team outings, showers, and other gatherings. Our private bookings can accommodate up to 20 attendees.

Can we bring food or drinks for a private event?
Yes! Food and drinks are welcome for private Candle Bar events. We just ask that everything stay separate from the candle-making workspace while candles are being poured.
