About Us

Made to feel like home.

At Rustic Pine Candle Company, we believe scent has a way of taking you somewhere—a cool morning with the windows open, something warm baking in the kitchen, a familiar road lined with Carolina pines, or a memory you didn’t realize you had.

Rooted in North Carolina, we create small-batch candles and home fragrance inspired by home, nostalgia, changing seasons, and the beauty of everyday life.

Each collection begins with a story. Some are inspired by our Old North State, from the coast to the mountains and the pines in between. Others come from childhood memories, family traditions, and those simple moments at home we wish we could hold onto a little longer.

Our products are thoughtfully made in small batches with carefully selected ingredients and an attention to quality that carries through everything we create.

Because sometimes fragrance is more than something that smells good.

Sometimes, it feels like coming home.

Giving Back

As a veteran- and military family-owned business, supporting the military community is especially close to our hearts. Rather than offering a traditional military discount, we choose to give back throughout the year by supporting organizations, families, and initiatives that directly serve veterans, active-duty service members, and military families.

For us, it’s a way to give back to a community that has been such an important part of our own story.

Meet the Maker

Hi, I’m Melody—the maker and heart behind Rustic Pine Candle Company (and our storefront, Old North State & Co.)

I’m a veteran, military wife, and mom of three who never imagined a simple creative hobby would grow into what Rustic Pine is today.

Candle making started as something I did just for fun. My very first candle came from a store-bought DIY kit (and trust me, we’ve come a long way since then!). I started making candles for friends and family, fell in love with the process, and eventually turned that little hobby into a business of my own.

Over the years, Rustic Pine has grown alongside my family—from candles made at home to full seasonal collections, a candle bar, and now a storefront here in North Carolina. But the heart behind it has stayed the same.

So much of what I create is inspired by the things I love most: home, family, North Carolina, changing seasons, and the kind of everyday moments that become memories before we even realize it.

Thank you for being here, supporting this little business, and allowing something that started as a creative outlet to become so much more than I ever imagined.
