Meet the Maker
Hi, I’m Melody—the maker and heart behind Rustic Pine Candle Company (and our storefront, Old North State & Co.)
I’m a veteran, military wife, and mom of three who never imagined a simple creative hobby would grow into what Rustic Pine is today.
Candle making started as something I did just for fun. My very first candle came from a store-bought DIY kit (and trust me, we’ve come a long way since then!). I started making candles for friends and family, fell in love with the process, and eventually turned that little hobby into a business of my own.
Over the years, Rustic Pine has grown alongside my family—from candles made at home to full seasonal collections, a candle bar, and now a storefront here in North Carolina. But the heart behind it has stayed the same.
So much of what I create is inspired by the things I love most: home, family, North Carolina, changing seasons, and the kind of everyday moments that become memories before we even realize it.
Thank you for being here, supporting this little business, and allowing something that started as a creative outlet to become so much more than I ever imagined.
